First 30 Days Chicken Log
The first month is when you learn what the setup is really like. A short log helps you notice patterns before they become routine problems.
What to track
Water use, feed waste, bedding condition, egg counts, weather, predator signs, and any bird acting different.
What the notes reveal
A waterer may leak, a corner may stay wet, a bird may get bullied, or feed may disappear faster than expected.
When to stop
Once the routine is stable, daily notes can stop. Start again when weather changes, birds molt, or something feels off.
Daily log prompts
- Water normal?
- Feed normal?
- Bird behavior normal?
- Egg count?
- Wet bedding or smell?
- Predator signs or latch problems?
