Partner Standards
BackyardChickenHQ may work with advertisers, affiliate programs, or other partners, but partner relationships do not decide what advice appears on the site.
How partner relationships are handled
Partner links should fit the reader's actual chicken setup. A product or service has to make sense for flock size, predator pressure, weather, cleaning access, safety, and realistic backyard use before it belongs in a recommendation.
What we avoid
- Recommending undersized coops just because they are easy to buy.
- Ignoring predator protection, ventilation, or cleaning access.
- Making a product sound necessary when a simpler setup may work.
- Letting commission potential override fit for a small backyard flock.
When a page includes partner links, the goal is still practical guidance first: what works, what to check, and when to skip it.
Reader fit comes first
A coop, door, feeder, waterer, or accessory can be popular and still be wrong for a reader’s flock. Partner opportunities should not override basic checks like realistic capacity, predator exposure, ventilation, cleaning access, weather, and long-term maintenance.
